Sprinter AC system failure

My 2012 Mercedes Sprinter with a gasoline engine has stopped air conditioning operations. The system won't engage. I've checked fuses and refrigerant levels. Could a defective valve be the cause, potentially costing 1000€ to repair? Has anyone else had similar AC failures in their Sprinters?

I have a similar Mercedes Sprinter, though I cannot recall the year. I experienced comparable AC issues recently. Have you checked the pressure switch? That was the source of my woes. A faulty pressure switch prevented the entire cooling system from initializing.

You propose the pressure switch as the potential problem? Could you elaborate on the diagnostic process you employed to pinpoint this particular component? Did you observe any specific anomalies during your AC diagnostics?

I didn't perform extensive AC maintenance. I simply replaced the pressure switch, and the temperature control returned to normal. If the cooling system still refuses to function, I would recommend consulting a qualified workshop for AC diagnostics.

I extend my gratitude for your insights. Your suggestion regarding the pressure switch proved invaluable. Upon closer inspection, it was exhibiting signs of malfunction. A replacement was procured, and the air conditioning system now functions flawlessly. The final cost amounted to 1000€, as initially estimated, encompassing the replacement of several valves exhibiting defects, along with the pressure switch. Your assistance has been most appreciated.
