Sprinter cruise control issue

Cruise control malfunction on my 2020 Mercedes Sprinter electric engine The cruise control has completely stopped working An error message flashes up whenever I try to engage it I've hooked it up to a diagnostics tool, and it's showing an error stored in the memory, but I'm not entirely sure how to interpret it The most probable cause seems to be a defective cable or plug connection somewhere within the system Has anyone encountered something similar The estimated repair cost from the dealer is around 95€, but I'd like to get some insight before committing to anything

Summary of the thread

The 2020 Mercedes Sprinter's cruise control stopped working, displaying an error message when engaged. The issue was suspected to be a defective cable or plug connection. After consulting with others who experienced similar problems, it was suggested to check connections near the steering wheel. Ultimately, a workshop visit confirmed a faulty connection due to a corroded plug, which was replaced, resolving the issue.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Cruise control failure sounds frustrating I also drive a Sprinter, not sure about the year or engine type, but I faced a similar cruise control problem a while ago I also got an error message Have you checked the connections near the steering wheel I'm no expert, but it could be a loose wire or something simple like that Also, did the diagnostics tool give you any specific error codes That might help narrow things down a bit It's probably car electronics playing games

Thanks for the quick response I did have a look around the steering wheel area, but didn't spot anything obvious I'm fairly handy with car electronics, but those connections are quite densely packed Regarding the error code, I'll have to check the exact code when I get a moment Do you remember if your issue also involved the diagnostic error memory

Yep, I remember that the error was stored in the memory After some struggle, I decided to visit a workshop I'd advise you do the same if you are not an expert I'm almost certain it's related to a defective wire or plug connection Good luck

Appreciate the confirmation and advice I took it to a workshop, and you were spot on – it turned out to be a faulty connection They replaced a corroded plug, cleared the error memory, and now the cruise control is working perfectly again The final bill was indeed close to 95€ Thanks again for your help
