Thanks for the quick reply! Yes, it was a third-party chip tuning. I don't remember the exact fault code, but it was something about the engine control unit not getting the correct data. What did you do to fix your Sprinter when you had this issue?

Yep, sounds like the chip tuning messed something up. I had to take mine to a workshop. They basically had to re-flash the ECU and remove the third-party tuning. It’s a pain, but honestly, it’s probably the safest bet to avoid further damage. I'd strongly advise getting it professionally checked out.

Took your advice and went to a workshop. Turns out the chip tuning was indeed the problem. They removed it and re-flashed the ECU. Everything is running smoothly now. Cost me 180€, but worth it for the peace of mind. Thanks for the help!
