Thanks for the tip. Yes, the steering wheel vibrates, and handling is off. Where exactly was the bad connection on your van?

It was tough to pinpoint exactly, honestly. Started with the same symptoms you described vibrating steering wheel, spongy feeling, and the power steering felt like it was failing. It needed more effort to turn. I ended up taking it to a workshop. They checked the steering rack and eventually found a faulty plug connection. I'd recommend getting it checked out professionally.

Appreciate the advice. I had the van checked, and it was indeed a defective cable connection, as suspected. Repair cost was 95€. All good now.

I had something similar happen on my Sprinter. Is your steering wheel shaking or vibrating at all? Mine was doing that, and the handling felt super spongy. Turned out to be a bad connection in the steering system. Have you checked the pressure hose? It might be worth a look.
