I had a similar issue with my Sprinter Not sure what year it is, but that pressure sensor can cause a real headache The exhaust system relies on it to monitor back pressure That reading is crucial for the engine performance A faulty reading will definitely mess with your DPF regeneration cycle, since it will not trigger the regeneration Is the smoke black or more of a greyish color

Thanks for your reply The smoke is black Does that mean it's definitely the pressure sensor Is there anything else I should check before replacing the exhaust sensor

Black smoke usually means unburnt fuel, which lines up with the sensor messing with engine performance I am no expert, but if the DPF isn't regenerating, the engine is compensating That sensor is relatively easy to get to Still, without proper diagnostic tools, it is tricky Given the symptoms and the warning light, I would suggest going to a workshop They can confirm it with proper diagnostics

You were right Took it to the workshop They confirmed it was the exhaust pressure sensor Replaced it, and now everything is running smoothly No more smoke, and the DPF is regenerating again Thanks for the advice
