Could you provide further details regarding the specific location of this connection and any particular aspects I should examine? I want to be certain before proceeding.

The control module is located within the steering wheel itself, beneath the airbag. I strongly advise against disassembling it yourself unless you possess the necessary expertise, as the airbag system is involved. The dealership confirmed a broken cable in the steering wheel and quoted 95€ including parts and labor. My recommendation is to have it diagnosed and repaired at a workshop to avoid unintended consequences.

I appreciate the information provided. I have followed your advice and consulted a workshop. The diagnostic confirmed the defect you described. The repair cost aligned with your estimate. Thank you for your assistance.

I had a similar issue with my Sprinter. The steering controls became unresponsive, and it was indeed an electrical fault. Did you check the connection to the control module in the steering column? Sometimes a loose or corroded connection can cause this. Make sure to disconnect the battery before inspecting any electrical components.
