Sprinter TPMS Issue Resolved

I'm having a TPMS issue with my 2012 Mercedes Sprinter, gasoline engine, at 95035 km. The tire pressure seems too low, triggering an error message on the speedometer. Error memory confirms a fault. Could this be related to the tire pressure sensors, possibly due to depleted batteries? I have already performed a tire check, and the air pressure seems fine.

I had a similar experience with my Sprinter. It sounds like a TPMS issue. Have you checked the air valve stems for any signs of damage or corrosion?

Thank you for your input. I haven't specifically examined the air valve stems. Could corrosion there really cause the tire pressure sensors to malfunction and report a low tire pressure even if the actual tire pressure is adequate?

In my case, the corrosion caused intermittent readings, but ultimately it was the sensor battery. It's worth checking, but with those symptoms and mileage, it's probably best to get it checked out at a workshop. They can confirm the exact fault.

Understood. Thank you for the advice. I took it to a workshop, and you were right, it was the sensor batteries. Repair cost was 280€. Replacing them resolved the TPMS issue and the error message. Appreciate the help.
