Sprinter Van Windshield Wipers Inoperative

That's rough. I had a similar issue on my old Vauxhall Corsa, though it was the turn signal that went out. The mechanic said it was something to do with the wiring harness rubbing near the steering column. Is your cruise control still working If the wipers and turn signal are on the same circuit, controlled by the same switch or wiring, it might give you a clue.

Okay, cruise control working is good news maybe. A wiring harness is basically a bunch of wires bundled together with connectors and stuff. Think of it as the car's nervous system. If a wire in that bundle gets damaged, rubbing, pinched, etc, it can cause all sorts of electrical gremlins. I am no expert, but that was the case with my car. Best to take it to the workshop.

Thanks for the insight. Shop confirmed it was a bad connection in the steering column wiring like they thought. 95€, all fixed.
