Stagea bad idle
Summary of the thread
A 2005 Nissan Stagea is experiencing a bad idle, with the check engine light on and an error stored in the memory. The engine stalls at idle, suspected to be due to a bad idle air control (IAC) valve caused by a heavily contaminated intake. The suggested solution involves inspecting and cleaning the throttle body and possibly replacing the IAC valve. After addressing these issues, the vehicle runs smoothly again.

It's dying, not hunting. I suspect gunk, but haven't had a chance to properly inspect. Was the IAC valve itself the culprit in your case, or just the throttle body?

Yep, sounds familiar. It was the gunked-up throttle body causing the IAC valve to not function properly. I tried cleaning it myself, but honestly, I'd just take it to a workshop. They'll sort it out properly. It's worth the peace of mind.

Thanks for the input. Turns out, intake was heavily contaminated, just like I thought. Replaced the IAC valve and cleaned everything up. Cost me 425€, but it's running smoothly now.

Whoa, stalling engine is no fun! I had a similar issue with my Stagea. Is it hunting for idle, or just straight-up dying? Have you checked the throttle body for gunk? That was my problem.
