Stagea headlight range control malfunction
Summary of the thread
The headlight range control on a 2007 Nissan Stagea was malfunctioning, with an error in memory and a warning light on the speedometer, causing the low beam to shine incorrectly. The issue was suspected to be a defective servomotor. A similar problem was resolved by checking connections to the headlight control module and ultimately replacing the faulty servomotor, which fixed the issue.

Thanks! I haven't checked the control module connections yet, but I will. When you had the issue, did the error code specifically point to the servomotor, or was it more generic? Trying to narrow it down before replacing parts.

Yeah, the error code was pretty specific about the servomotor being the culprit. After checking connections and the wiring harness, I ended up taking it to a workshop. Turns out the motor was completely shot. Cost a bit to replace (around 1000€ if I remember correctly) but solved the problem instantly. Good luck!

Took it to my mechanic who confirmed it was indeed the servomotor. The repair, including parts and labor, cost 1040€. Expensive, but now the lights are working perfectly again. Thanks again for your help!

Hey! I own a Stagea as well. I had almost the exact same symptoms a while back. Error light, beams all over the place... Sounds like you're on the right track suspecting the servomotor. Did you try checking the connections to the headlight control module? Sometimes a loose or corroded connector can cause weird issues.
