Starting difficulties and warning light on a 2019 Renault Clio Hybrid: suspected water sensor malfunction
(Translated from German)
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Renault Clio Hybrid is experiencing starting difficulties and a warning light on the speedometer, suspected to be due to a malfunctioning water sensor. A similar issue in another Renault vehicle was caused by a faulty cable connection to the sensor, affecting other electronic functions. The suggested solution is to have the sensor cables checked and possibly replaced at a garage. Prompt attention to the issue is advised to ensure the car's engine state is correctly monitored.

Hey, thanks for the info! My car is also spinning in other electronic functions. Probably the same problem then... Do you happen to remember how much this repair cost you? And did you have problems again at some point afterwards? It would really help me to know what I need to be prepared for. Thank you in advance!

Hey, no problem, that's the point of forums like this, isn't it? Well, in my case the problem was solved after the visit to the mechanic, the malfunction of the water sensor was no longer an issue. The cost of the repair was also reasonable, I had to pay around €365 to fix the faulty sensor cable connection. This stupid thing has done its job well so far and hasn't caused me any further worries. So, don't worry, it shouldn't really be too much of a problem. The main thing is to get it into the workshop soon and get it fixed. Good luck with that, buddy!

Thanks for the relief, buddy! It really takes a load off my mind to know that the costs are feasible. I'll make an appointment at the garage tomorrow and hope that the problem is solved as easily as yours. I can get over €365. Very helpful information, thanks again! Keep your fingers crossed that the car will recover. I'll let you know how it goes! See you guys!

Hey, I drive a 2016 Renault Megane and I recently had a similar problem. In my case, the cable connection to the sensor was faulty at the time. A telltale sign can be if other electronic functions also have problems, as they may all be powered by the same power source. The problem with the sensor is indeed a serious one, as the car is no longer correctly informed about the state of the engine. In my case, these cables had to be replaced and securely connected so that the sensor could function correctly again. It was definitely necessary to take the car to a garage quickly. I hope this information helps you. Good luck, buddy!
