Hey there, your experience sounds spot on with what I'm dealing with my Frontier. I applaud your patience with the steering wheel assembly ordeal! Hope my case won't be that complicated. Anyway, if you don't mind me asking, do you recall roughly how much you forked over to sort that out? And has anything else cropped up since they did the fix? Appreciate the tips on finding a good garage too. Cheers!

Hey, glad my previous experience could give you some hope! As for the repair cost, it set me back about 95 quid, wouldn't exactly call it pocket change, haha! But, seems like money well spent since I haven't had any issues with the steering wheel since then. After the mechanic did his thing with the cables in the steering wheel, my '04 Navara's been behaving pretty good so far, just crossing fingers it stays that way! Hope this puts your mind at ease a bit, and your Frontier gets back to her old self soon enough. Best of luck!

Hey, I had a similar problem with my '04 Nissan Navara not too long ago. All the controls on the steering wheel stopped working, kind of like your situation. Turns out the issue was with the cables in the steering wheel, they got defective over time. It can happen especially with the mileage we are at. It wasn't a small thing, as it does involve a bit of work. They had to rip apart the steering wheel assembly to fix it, but they got it sorted. No need to panic yet, could be something else for you. But if it is the steering wheel cables, they'll get it fixed. No biggie. Steering clear of mentioning names, but find yourself a decent garage. Check out their reputation, maybe google for reviews. Good luck with it! Cheerio.
