Stilo climate control solar sensor fault

Hey, I've got a weird problem with my 2005 Fiat Stilo diesel. It's showing a solar sensor error, and the heater isn't kicking out much heat. The car's done 85141 km. I'm thinking it might be a dodgy wire or plug to the sensor. Any ideas?

Summary of the thread

A 2005 Fiat Stilo diesel is experiencing a solar sensor error, leading to inadequate heating. The issue might be due to a faulty wire or plug connected to the sensor. Checking the sensor calibration is suggested as a potential solution, but it may require a diagnostic tool. Visiting a workshop is recommended for efficient resolution.

Interesting. I had a similar issue with my old Audi A4, though it was the ambient temperature sensor causing the problems. Same symptoms though – error code and the climate control was all over the place. Have you tried checking the sensor calibration? It might be worth a shot before digging into the wiring.

Good shout. Can I do the sensor calibration myself, or do I need special gear?

On the Audi, it needed VAG-COM (VCDS) to recalibrate. I'm not sure about the Fiat Stilo, but I'd bet you'll need some sort of diagnostic tool to access the climate control module. Honestly, after fiddling with mine for a while, I just took it to a workshop. Saved me a ton of time and frustration.

Okay, cheers for the heads up. Sounds like a trip to the garage is on the cards.
