Stilo Diesel Starting Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2003 Fiat Stilo diesel was experiencing starting issues, increased fuel consumption, reduced power, rough idling, and occasional stalling. The problem was suspected to be dirty injectors. After further discussion, it was suggested that a defective injection nozzle might be the cause. Upon inspection at a workshop, a faulty injector was confirmed and replaced, resolving the issues.

Clogging, eh? Hmmm... hadn't thought specifically about that. It doesn't seem to matter if it is warm or cold. The symptoms are pretty consistent. Did you have to replace any parts?

Unfortunately, yeah. Turned out to be a defective injection nozzle, as the error code suggested. Best to get it checked at a workshop, or you might end up chasing ghosts. I know it’s not ideal but at least you know what it is

Injector nozzle sounds spot on. Took it to the shop. You were right – faulty injector! Cost me 515€, but she's running sweet as a nut now. Massive thanks for the help!

Sounds familiar. I had almost the same symptoms on my Stilo diesel. Have you checked for clogging? Performance was terrible until I addressed the problem. Does it get better when the engine warms up?
