I've considered the headlight switch. Do you recall any specific diagnostic procedures you used on your Peugeot? Did you pinpoint the source of the issue before resorting to more drastic measures?

Certainty? Not really, more like educated guesswork! In the end, a mechanic traced it to a faulty connection within the switch housing. Saved myself a lot of grief by letting them handle it. Given your symptoms, might be worth getting it properly diagnosed. Could be a short somewhere, or even a dodgy earth.

I appreciate your insights. Following your suggestion, I consulted a qualified technician. The diagnostic confirmed a defective connection, and the repair, costing 95€, resolved the issue. Thank you for sharing your experience; it proved invaluable.

Sounds familiar! I had similar gremlins in my old Peugeot 307. Dashboard lights flickering, headlights acting possessed. I checked every fuse I could find! Have you inspected the headlight switch itself? Those things can be surprisingly fragile. Is the stalk loose or wobbly at all?
