Stilo low brake fluid
Summary of the thread
A 2002 Fiat Stilo diesel is experiencing low brake fluid levels and a strange brake pedal feel, despite no visible leaks in the master cylinder or brake lines. The issue could be due to worn brake parts, as suggested by the intermittent brake system warning light. The recommended solution is to have the vehicle inspected at a workshop, where worn brake components were identified and replaced, resolving the problem.

Thanks. Yes, the brake system warning light comes on sometimes. Considering the age and mileage, what should I check beyond the obvious stuff? What specific brake parts could cause the low fluid?

The intermittent warning light definitely adds to the concern. Honestly, figuring out the exact cause without a proper inspection is tricky. It could be the pads, but without knowing for sure, I’d really suggest getting it to a workshop for a check. Brakes are not something to gamble with.

I took it to a workshop. It was worn brake parts needing replacement, plus fluid. Cost me 480€. Thanks for the help.

A low brake fluid level and strange pedal feel? That sounds worrying. Have you noticed any warning lights on the dashboard? It could be something simple, but with brakes, it's better to be safe than sorry. Maybe worn brakes?
