Stilo power windows not working after battery replacement
Summary of the thread
After replacing the battery in a 2005 Fiat Stilo, the power windows stopped functioning, with an error indicating a window regulator initialization issue. A possible cause could be the need for a window reset procedure or a faulty window regulator. It was suggested to have the car scanned with Fiat-specific diagnostic tools, which ultimately revealed a failed window regulator that required replacement and initialization to resolve the problem.

Window reset procedure? I'm not familiar with that. Could you elaborate? I've tried holding the window switch up and down for a few seconds, but nothing seems to happen. Is there something else I should be doing?

That's the procedure, but it doesn't always work. It might be a faulty regulator or even the body computer. I'd suggest getting it scanned at a workshop with Fiat-specific diagnostic tools. They'll probably be able to initialize it properly or pinpoint the exact issue.

I took it to a local workshop as you suggested. They diagnosed a failed window regulator and performed the necessary initialization. The repair cost me 290€, but at least the windows are working again!

I have a Stilo too, and something similar happened when I disconnected the battery. Did you try the window reset procedure? Sometimes they need to relearn their positions.
