Stream rear sun blind failure
Summary of the thread
The rear sun blind in a 2005 Honda Stream is malfunctioning, failing to retract or extend, and an error code related to the sun blind is stored in the vehicle's system. The issue is likely due to a defective motor, as similar symptoms were experienced by another owner. The recommended solution is to have the motor replaced by a qualified workshop, as the repair can be complex and potentially costly.

Yes, I meant a diagnostic trouble code. Unfortunately, I don't have the exact code at hand right now. But could you describe your experience and the error you had further? Did the sun blind behave similarly?

Yes, the sun blind in my Stream exhibited the exact same symptoms: it wouldn't retract or extend. Given that and the presence of an error code, the motor is the most likely culprit. Replacing it on your own can be tricky, due to car interior complexities. I would recommend a qualified workshop. Be prepared for a potentially high repair bill.

Thanks for confirming, that's very helpful. I suspected that might be the case, and it's good to know I'm not alone with this issue. I'll take it to a workshop to have it checked. Based on your advice and some research, I'm expecting a bill around 330€.

I also own a Stream, and this sounds similar to an issue I encountered. A sun blind, also known as a sunshade or sun visor, is a retractable screen designed to block sunlight. When you say 'error memory', do you mean a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) appeared when you scanned the car's computer? What was the exact code?
