Suburban Battery Drain
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Chevrolet Suburban Duramax diesel is experiencing battery drain issues, indicated by an error message on the speedometer, weak lights, and a stored error code. The battery appears fine, but the vehicle struggles to start, leading to suspicion of a defective battery sensor causing a parasitic drain. After considering similar experiences and advice, the decision is made to take the vehicle to a shop for professional diagnosis and repair.

I did check the alternator, and it seems okay, but I'll recheck it under load. How did your issue show up, and what did you do to fix it? Any parts you checked or replaced?

Yeah, I thought it was the alternator too at first. But after a bunch of testing, it turned out to be some sensor draining the battery when the car was off. Honestly, I just took it to a shop. They sorted it out pretty quick.

Okay, that reinforces my suspicion of a parasitic drain from a bad sensor. Modern car electronics are complex, so I think I'll take your advice and bring it to a shop. The estimated repair cost is about 315€, which seems reasonable. Thanks for the help; it helped me make my decision.

Hey, I think I had something similar with my Suburban. I didn't see the error message, but the lights were dim, and the battery was always flat. Did you check the alternator?
