Suburban Exhaust Temperature Sensor Issue

My 2011 Chevrolet Suburban (gasoline engine) has a check engine light, reduced power, and increased fuel consumption. The OBD2 scanner says it's the exhaust temperature sensor. Mileage is at 241264 km. I think there might be an exhaust leak. Anyone seen this before?

Summary of the thread

A 2011 Chevrolet Suburban experienced a check engine light, reduced power, and increased fuel consumption, with an OBD2 scanner indicating an exhaust temperature sensor issue. The problem was suspected to be an exhaust leak. Upon inspection at a workshop, a small crack in the exhaust was found, causing incorrect sensor readings. Repairing the exhaust and replacing the sensor resolved the issue, restoring the vehicle's performance.

That sounds familiar. I had a similar problem with my old Opel Astra. Same symptoms: check engine light, sluggish performance. Have you checked the exhaust system for any visible cracks or rust? That's where I eventually found the problem on my Astra.

Thanks. I've looked at the exhaust, but nothing obvious. Where on the exhaust system did you find the leak on your Opel?

It was a small crack near one of the joints, almost invisible at first glance. I'd suggest taking it to a workshop; they have tools to check the exhaust under pressure. Could save you a lot of time.

Appreciate the advice. The shop found a small crack in the exhaust, causing the sensor to read incorrectly. New exhaust temperature sensor and exhaust repair, all in at 265€. Runs great now.
