Suburban sporadic errors and control unit failure

Hey, I'm having some weird issues with my 2020 Chevrolet Suburban diesel. It's got about 145k km on it. I'm getting sporadic errors in driving mode, and sometimes the error lamps light up. Also, various systems, mostly audio/navigation, seem to fail. Sometimes the control units just shut down or become unresponsive. I scanned it, and there's an error stored in the memory, but nothing specific. Anyone else experienced anything like this?

Summary of the thread

A 2020 Chevrolet Suburban diesel with 145,000 km is experiencing sporadic errors in driving mode, with error lamps lighting up and failures in systems like audio/navigation. The control units sometimes shut down or become unresponsive, and a scan shows a non-specific error. A possible cause could be a defective cable connection to the BUS system, leading to a cascade of errors. It is recommended to take the vehicle to a workshop for diagnosis and repair, as the issue may be complex and require specialized tools.

Sounds familiar. I had similar gremlins in my Suburban, though it's an older model. Were you getting any warning signals or seeing anything on the OBD-II scanner related to the BUS system? Could be a dodgy connection. It's like a loose wire in a complex Christmas tree – one thing goes, and everything flickers.

Thanks for the reply! You mentioned the BUS system connection. Was it throwing specific codes, or was it more of a general 'service required' type of message? I'm trying to figure out if it's something I can tackle myself or if I should just bite the bullet and take it to a shop.

No specific codes that pointed directly to the issue, more like a cascade of errors. In my case, it turned out to be a defective cable connection of the control unit to the BUS system. It's tricky to diagnose without the right tools. Honestly, unless you're really comfortable with wiring diagrams and control units, I'd suggest taking it to a workshop. They should be able to pinpoint it pretty quickly. My repair cost around 155€, so it hopefully won't break the bank.

Appreciate the insight. Sounds like it's beyond my skillset. I'll take it to a shop and mention the BUS system connection. Hopefully, that will save them some time and me some money. Thanks again!
