Indeed, cold starts are noticeably more difficult. Could you elaborate on the specific resolution in your case, particularly any details regarding the diagnostics or repairs performed?

Okay, so mine turned out to be exactly what your diagnostics suggest – a corroded connector on the fuel filter heater. Honestly, after chasing shadows for ages, the workshop just cleaned everything up, replaced a short section of the wiring, and the problem vanished. Saved me a fortune on unnecessary filter replacements. I'd strongly advise getting the wiring checked thoroughly before throwing any parts at it, especially with those symptoms.

Thank you for the detailed insight. Following your suggestion, I had the cable and plug connection thoroughly inspected. As suspected, corrosion was identified and addressed. The total repair cost amounted to 95€. The symptoms have now been resolved.

Wow, that sounds eerily familiar! I had almost the exact same symptoms with my old Opel Astra a few years back, also a diesel. Error codes popping up, felt like I was towing a boat anchor, and the fuel bills went through the roof! How's it running when it's cold? Mine was an absolute nightmare to start when the temperature dropped.
