Sunny radar sensor malfunction

Hi, I'm having trouble with my 2010 Nissan Sunny diesel. The radar sensor seems to have gone bonkers. I'm getting an error message in the speedometer, and the error memory has stored something. It's also causing failures in various systems and a warning light is constantly on. Could a dirty sensor really cause all this mayhem?

Greetings. The symptoms you are describing indeed suggest a potential issue with the radar sensor. The interconnected nature of modern vehicle systems means that a malfunctioning sensor can trigger a cascade of errors. I would inquire, have you by any chance performed any modifications or repairs to the front of the vehicle recently, specifically around the area where the radar sensor is typically located?

No, I haven't touched anything near the sensor. Where exactly is it usually located on the Sunny? Maybe I can at least try to give it a clean myself?

Given that no modifications or repairs have been carried out, the issue is most likely related to the sensor itself, as you initially suspected. However, due to the complexity and integration of these driving assistance and safety systems, I must advise that you should visit a qualified workshop with appropriate diagnostic equipment to perform a proper radar calibration procedure. While cleaning the sensor might offer a temporary reprieve, it is likely that the underlying issue requires professional attention.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a shop, and you were right. Turns out, it was just a dirty sensor! They cleaned it and recalibrated the radar, and everything's working fine now. Cost me 45€.
