Supra Belt Tensioner Issue

Hey, I'm having trouble with my 2001 Toyota Supra IV (gasoline engine). The belt tensioner isn't doing its job. I think the tensioner itself is the problem. Any ideas?

I had a similar issue. The belt started squealing like crazy, and engine performance took a hit. Check your idler pulley too; sometimes they seize and cause belt tensioner problems. Is the engine noise constant, or does it change with RPM?

Sounds super familiar. I suspected the tensioner, but honestly, messing with belts without the right tools can be a pain. So, I took mine to a workshop. They confirmed it was indeed the belt tensioner and replaced it. Best to get it checked out properly to avoid further issues.
