Supra Overheating Electric Fan Issue

My 2022 Toyota Supra IV with a gasoline engine is overheating. It has 110869 km. The electric fan is barely spinning, if at all. Fuses are good, but I suspect a dodgy cable or plug connection to the fan motor. Anyone else had this?

I had almost the same problem with my Supra. Overheating issues are the worst! Have you checked the fan clutch, or is it purely an electric setup? It could still be the fan motor itself, drawing too much current and not spinning properly. Also, check the relay that controls the fan. Those can fail intermittently.

Good shout on the relay, hadn't thought of that. Where is that located on the Supra? And you mentioned the fan motor drawing too much current - how would I even test for that?

The relay should be in the main fuse box under the hood – check your owner's manual to be sure. As for testing the current draw, you'd need an ammeter. Honestly, at this point, I'd just take it to a workshop. Better safe than sorry when it comes to engine cooling. You don’t want to cook your engine!

It was a dodgy connection. I got the Supra into the workshop, and it was indeed a faulty connector. New connector, wiring checked, all for 95€ Thanks for the pointers!
