SupraIV anti theft alarm error

Anyone seen this? My 2001 Toyota SupraIV, gasoline engine, 125k km, is throwing a weird anti-theft alarm error. It's stored in the error memory and the alarm is completely non-functional. I suspect it's coded to activate the optical locking, but not sure where to start.

Security alarm issues are always annoying. I had similar issues with my SupraIV. Have you checked the alarm sensor or security alarm module? Possible power failure?

Checked the alarm sensor and power, all good. Where exactly was the problem in your case? Wondering if it might be the alarm control unit itself.

It was indeed the alarm control unit. If the alarm sensor and power are fine, you may be facing the same issue. I'd recommend taking it to a workshop; they will find the faulty alarm system part and fix the problem. I hope this helps.

Yep, you were right. Went to the workshop and they recoded the alarm system. Turns out it was coded to activate optical locking, like I suspected. Cost me 45€, all sorted now. Thanks for the advice!
