SupraIV anti theft alarm error
Summary of the thread
A 2001 Toyota SupraIV is experiencing a non-functional anti-theft alarm with an error stored in the memory. The issue is suspected to be related to the alarm being coded to activate optical locking. After checking the alarm sensor and power, the problem was identified as the alarm control unit. The solution involved recoding the alarm system at a workshop, resolving the issue.

Checked the alarm sensor and power, all good. Where exactly was the problem in your case? Wondering if it might be the alarm control unit itself.

It was indeed the alarm control unit. If the alarm sensor and power are fine, you may be facing the same issue. I'd recommend taking it to a workshop; they will find the faulty alarm system part and fix the problem. I hope this helps.

Yep, you were right. Went to the workshop and they recoded the alarm system. Turns out it was coded to activate optical locking, like I suspected. Cost me 45€, all sorted now. Thanks for the advice!

Security alarm issues are always annoying. I had similar issues with my SupraIV. Have you checked the alarm sensor or security alarm module? Possible power failure?
