SupraIV check engine light air valve issue
Summary of the thread
A 2022 Toyota SupraIV owner experienced a persistent check engine light issue and suspected it might be related to the air valve. A suggestion was made to inspect the vacuum hoses for cracks or disconnections, as a faulty hose could affect manifold pressure and trigger the light. Upon inspection, a defective hose was identified and replaced, resolving the issue.

Vacuum hoses, huh? I'll take a look. Where exactly are those located? And the Idle seems fine. Could it still be the hoses even if the idle isn't rough?

Yeah, even with a steady idle, a small leak in the hose to the air valve can mess with the manifold pressure and trigger that light. Honestly, without proper tools, it's tough to pinpoint exactly where the leak is. Maybe take it to a workshop to get it smoke tested.

Thanks for the tip! Turns out you were spot on! The hose connecting the pump to the valve was faulty! Replaced it and the light's gone. Cost me 175€ with parts and labor. Appreciate the help!

Interesting. I had a similar issue with my SupraIV a while back. Have you checked the vacuum hoses? A defective hose connection from the pump to the valve could definitely cause that. Maybe look for cracks or disconnections. How does it idle?
