SupraIV Electric Steering Column Defect

Fuses have been verified. I have access to the error memory and can confirm the error. The diagnostic device suggests a connectivity issue. Could a simple reset solve the issue, or is hardware repair the only option?

A reset is worth a try, but generally, if the diagnostic is pointing to a connectivity fault and the steering column is completely unresponsive, it usually indicates a hardware problem. Given the car's age and the error codes, it's probably best to let a workshop do a closer inspection. Prevents you from causing further damage. Frustrating, I know.

Thank you for the assessment. I followed your recommendation and consulted a workshop. The defective cable was found and replaced, as predicted. The total repair cost was 95€.

I experienced something similar with my older Supra. You've checked all the fuses, right? It's always the simple things that get overlooked. Could also be a faulty motor in the steering column itself, though a wiring issue is more common. Did you already check the error code with a diagnostic device?
