SupraIV rough running and stalling

Hey, I'm having trouble with my 2001 Toyota SupraIV with a gasoline engine. It's got about 51292 km on it. Lately, it's been running really rough, and sometimes it even stalls when I'm idling. Plus, the check engine light keeps popping on, and it feels like the car is jerking when I try to accelerate. I've checked the cable and plug connections, and they look okay, but I suspect it is a defective ignition coil. Any ideas?

I had a similar issue with my SupraIV. Rough running and stalling sounds familiar. Have you checked the coil pack and spark plugs?

Thanks for the quick reply! Yeah, I gave the spark plugs a look-over, and they seemed alright at first glance. But, now that you mention the coil pack, is there a specific way to test it or something? I'm not really a mechanic, so I'm not super familiar with vehicle diagnostics.

Honestly, I'm no expert either. When mine started acting up, I took it to a workshop. They ran some tests and confirmed it was the coil pack. Saved me a lot of headache trying to figure it out myself.

Appreciate the advice! I think I'll follow your lead and bring it in. Turns out you were right, it was a defective ignition coil, and faulty wiring! Cost me 95€, but at least it's running smoothly again.
