SupraIV Throttle Valve Defect

Good point! I'll try scanning for OBD2 codes. So if it's the throttle position sensor, does that mean the whole throttle body needs replacing or just the sensor itself? I've heard something about engine idling problems too.

In my case, the sensor was integrated into the throttle body, requiring a full replacement. However, the Supra may have a different setup. Given the symptoms and potential for electronic issues within the accelerator pedal module, it's best to get it diagnosed at a workshop.

Thanks for the advice! I scanned the car and the throttle valve was indeed defective. I went to the workshop. It appears the entire throttle body needed to be replaced due to a faulty sensor. Replacement cost me around 265€. Runs great now!

I had similar symptoms with my 2018 BMW 3 Series. The check engine light, plus sluggish performance, pointed to a potential throttle position sensor issue. Have you checked for any specific error codes using an OBD2 scanner?
