System readiness check incomplete error

Alright so my electric 2021 Mini Cooper is showing an error message System readiness check incomplete It's stored in the error memory and pops up in the speedometer I've read online that this can happen after an OBD2 diagnostics read Is that plausible Anyone else experienced this

Interesting System readiness incomplete can be a pain Was there any work done recently on the exhaust system or anything related to emissions When was the vehicle inspection done last time Sometimes a pending code can cause this even if it hasn't triggered the check engine light yet Have you tried clearing the codes yourself

Thanks for the quick reply No exhaust work recently but I did use an OBD2 scanner to check for some unrelated stuff last week Could that have caused it even if I didn't change anything And no I haven't cleared any codes myself yet was hesitant to mess things up further

Yeah it's definitely plausible Reading with an OBD2 scanner can sometimes interrupt the onboard diagnostics self-tests leading to that system readiness issue Basically the car hasn't had a chance to complete all its internal checks You might be looking at a vehicle inspection issue otherwise If it's just the OBD2 read a reset should fix it but I'd still swing by a workshop just to be safe

Just wanted to update you you were spot on Took the Mini to a trusted mechanic Turns out the OBD2 read did mess with the system readiness They reset it and the error's gone No charge which is a win Thanks a ton for the help
