T-Cross Rough Idle & Stalling Points to Injector Issue

My T-Cross started acting up lately with rough starts and keeps stalling when idle. Engine feels weak and drinks way more fuel than usual. Seems like textbook injection problems to me. Running a 2020 gasoline model with 133935km. Had a bad experience with my regular mechanic last time, so looking for recommendations on trusted shops that have dealt with similar issues. Anyone faced comparable symptoms and got it fixed properly? Would especially like to know the final diagnosis and repair costs.

Had similar issues with my 2017 VW Polo TSI last month. The symptoms match exactly what you describe, rough idle, increased fuel consumption, and weak acceleration. The diagnosis revealed dirty fuel injectors causing inconsistent fuel spray patterns, leading to incomplete combustion and misfire issues. The repair involved a professional injector cleaning service and replacement of two completely clogged injectors that were beyond cleaning. This is a serious issue that needs prompt attention as it can lead to: Further engine performance deterioration, Increased emissions due to poor combustion, Potential catalytic converter damage, Risk of complete injector failure The cleaning and repair process took about 4 hours. The technician also performed a full fuel system inspection and changed the fuel filter as preventive maintenance. After the repair, the engine ran smoothly again with normal fuel consumption. Worth noting that dirty injectors are common in high-mileage vehicles, but regular fuel system maintenance can prevent such issues. Your mileage suggests its time for a thorough fuel system service. Recommend finding a shop specializing in VW fuel injection repair for best results.

Thanks for sharing that experience with the Polo TSI injector repair. Your vehicle symptoms sound identical to what mine were. My repair was completed a few months ago and the misfire issues completely disappeared. The engine runs strong now and fuel consumption went back to normal. No clogging or performance issues since the fix. Just wondering, what did the total repair end up costing you, including parts and labor? Also curious if you had any other related problems pop up after getting the injectors sorted? Just want to make sure I paid a fair price for my repair and didnt miss anything that might need attention soon.

Glad to hear your T-Cross is running well again. After seeing the mechanic, they diagnosed and fixed a defective injection nozzle that was causing the misfire and poor performance. The total repair came to 515€ including parts and labor, which is pretty standard for this type of work. The gasoline engine has been running flawlessly since the repair, no related issues at all. Fuel consumption stayed normal and the rough idle completely disappeared. The emissions are back to normal levels too, confirming the injection system is working properly. Regular fuel system maintenance really helps prevent these problems from recurring. Would suggest using quality fuel and replacing the fuel filter at recommended intervals. The repair resolved everything and no additional problems have emerged in the months since the fix. For reference, a complete injector replacement would have cost significantly more, so catching and fixing the dirty injection valve early likely saved some money in the long run.

Thanks everyone for the helpful replies. Just wanted to close the loop on what happened with my T-Cross repair. Finally took it to a certified shop specializing in fuel injection systems. The diagnosis confirmed dirty injectors and one completely failed unit causing the misfire. Total bill came to 480€ which covered injector cleaning, replacement of the bad unit, and a new fuel filter. The repair took about 3 hours. My gasoline engine runs perfectly now, no more rough starts or performance issues. Fuel consumption dropped back to normal levels too. Really glad I addressed it quickly before it could cause more extensive damage. The shop also gave me some tips about using quality fuel and regular maintenance to prevent future injection problems. So far everything has been great for the past 2 months with no issues returning. Much cheaper than I expected given how badly it was running. Just wish I hadnt waited so long to get it checked out.
