Thanks for the detailed info about the amp replacement. Just had the same repair done on my T-Roc and the complete radio silence issue is now fixed. The USB audio and Bluetooth are working perfectly again. How much did you end up paying for the fix? Wondering if repair costs were similar. Also, have you experienced any other sound system problems since the amplifier was replaced?

Finally had a chance to update on my Golf repair. The audio system has been working flawlessly since getting it fixed, no more sound distortion or radio silence issues. The amplifier replacement completely solved the problem. My repair cost was actually less than yours at 280€, which covered the defective bass speaker that was causing the complete audio failure. Once replaced, all sound outputs started working perfectly again, including the auxiliary input and Bluetooth connection. Been about 8 months since the repair, and I havent experienced any other sound system problems. The audio quality is actually better than before, particularly the bass response. Seems like the original speaker was probably deteriorating for a while before it completely failed. Good to hear your T-Roc is also back to normal. These audio system failures can be frustrating, but at least its usually a one-time fix when done properly.

Thanks for the helpful advice. Finally got my T-Roc back from the shop today. The volume control and entire sound system are working perfectly now. Turns out my repair was more expensive, 450€ total. The mechanic found both a faulty amplifier and damaged wiring to the car speakers. Said the wiring issue likely caused the amp failure. The experience was much better than my previous mechanic visits. They diagnosed the problem quickly and had my car back in just 2 days. Really impressed with how thorough they were in testing all audio inputs and outputs before returning the vehicle. Have to say the sound quality is noticeably improved from before. The USB audio and radio are crystal clear now. Guess sometimes these issues end up being blessings in disguise. Will definitely stick with this shop for future repairs. Nice to finally have a reliable mechanic who does quality work without trying to upsell unnecessary services.

Had the same radio silence issue with my 2016 VW Golf TSI. The sound system completely died despite the head unit appearing to work normally. After diagnostic checks, it turned out the amplifier module had failed, which is a common problem in these models. The amp connects to all car speakers and when it goes, you get total audio failure rather than just partial speaker issues. The repair involved replacing the amplifier unit and recoding it to work with the vehicle electronics. Not a DIY job since it requires specific diagnostic tools and coding equipment. The Bluetooth issue was also resolved after the amp replacement. This is considered a serious electrical repair since it affects the entire audio infrastructure. If your T-Roc shows similar symptoms, system powers on but no sound through any output (USB audio, radio, or Bluetooth), its likely the same amplifier problem. Worth noting the issue is different from speaker damage, which usually affects only one channel or creates distorted sound rather than complete silence. Getting it checked by a certified shop is recommended since improper repair can affect other electronic systems.
