Thanks for detailing your experience with the Golf connectivity problems. Your symptoms do match my T-Roc issues exactly. Looks like I should focus on the communication module rather than waste time on software updates. Since your repair seems successful, would you mind sharing what the total cost was for the module replacement and reprogramming? Also curious if youve had any other electrical gremlins pop up since the fix was done. Planning to book this at a VW specialist next week and want to budget properly.

Glad my earlier post helped identify the problem. Happy to report zero electrical issues since getting the communication module sorted. The best part is you might not even need a full replacement like I did, my recent visit to the mechanic revealed it was just an incorrect pairing with the end device causing the trouble. The fix cost only 45€ for the diagnostic and reset procedure. The transmission control system and all other electronics have worked flawlessly since then. No more error codes during scanning and the infotainment system now maintains stable connections. Really relieved it turned out to be a simpler fix than my initial module replacement. Just make sure your specialist runs a complete diagnostic before starting any repairs, sometimes these symptoms can stem from minor connection issues rather than full component failure. Better to confirm before investing in costly parts replacement.

Thanks everyone for the helpful insights. After reading about similar experiences, I finally took my T-Roc to a certified VW specialist last week. Turns out the issue was more basic than expected, a damaged wiring harness was causing intermittent electrical faults in the connectivity module. The repair cost came to 180€ including diagnostics and parts. Much better than the 600€ quote I got previously for a full module replacement. The mechanic showed me where the wire insulation had worn through, causing sporadic connection problems and those error codes during scanning. After a week of testing, the infotainment system works perfectly, no more rejected connections or scanning errors. The engine light never came on and steering/transmission remained solid throughout, so glad I focused specifically on the connectivity issue rather than allowing a complete electronic overhaul. Good reminder to get a proper diagnosis before agreeing to major repairs. Sometimes the simplest explanation is the correct one.

Last month had nearly identical connectivity issues with my 2015 VW Golf 1.4 TSI. The infotainment system kept dropping connections and displaying error codes during diagnostics. After thorough testing, the problem traced back to a faulty communication module, not just a software glitch. The repair involved replacing the main connectivity control unit and performing a complete system reset. This was a fairly serious electrical fault requiring specialized diagnostic equipment. Simple software updates attempted initially did not resolve the issue. The root cause was component degradation in the original module, which is a known weakness in some VW models from that production period. After replacement, all connectivity functions were restored and remain stable. Key symptoms matched yours: Unusual connection drops, Error codes during scanning, Normal engine and transmission operation, Infotainment system rejecting device pairing Recommend getting the communication module tested specifically rather than general diagnostics. The fix requires dealership-level equipment to properly code the new unit to the vehicle systems.
