Just had the exact same problem with mine at 69688km. The parking assist and radar sensors suddenly stopped working after a recent wash. Took it to service last week and they found water damage in the wiring harness connecting the ultrasonic sensors. They had to replace two proximity sensors and part of the wiring. The blind spot sensors were also affected. Repair cost was 280€ but its working perfectly now. From what the technician told me, its a known issue with water getting into the connectors over time.

Thanks for sharing your repair experience. It definitely confirms what I encountered with my Tiguan's parking assist system. Water ingress through deteriorated seals seems to be a common failure point affecting the obstacle detection systems in our VW models. After my initial repair, I had the workshop apply additional sealant around the sensor connectors to prevent future moisture issues. Since your T-Roc showed similar symptoms with the faulty wiring and water damage, this preventive measure might be worth considering. The total repair costs vary quite a bit though, my 95€ repair versus your 280€ bill. This difference likely comes from the additional proximity sensors you needed replaced, while my issue was limited to just the wiring harness and connector cleaning. For anyone else experiencing parking assist failures after car washes, its worth checking the control module error codes first, as water damage to the wiring is often the root cause rather than sensor failure. A proper diagnostic scan can save money by pinpointing whether its the wiring harness or the sensors themselves that need attention.

Really glad I posted here before going to the workshop. This aligns perfectly with what happened. Water from a recent automated car wash must have damaged my wiring harness. Just took it in today and the diagnosis confirmed corroded connectors affecting the ultrasonic sensors. The blind spot sensors were functioning intermittently too. Total repair came to 265€, they replaced some parking sensors and fixed the faulty wiring. The obstacle detection system is now working flawlessly again. Will definitely ask them about extra sealant for the connectors to prevent future issues. Thanks for helping me understand the problem before the repair visit, saved me from worrying it might be something more serious with the control module.

As someone with moderate experience maintaining Volkswagen vehicles, I encountered a similar issue with my 2021 VW Tiguan. The parking assist system completely failed, showing identical symptoms, no parking sensors, inactive camera, and constant error messages. The problem turned out to be faulty wiring connections to the ultrasonic sensors. After diagnostic testing, the workshop found that moisture had caused corrosion in one of the main wire harness connectors linking the proximity sensors to the parking assist control module. The repair involved cleaning the corroded connector pins and replacing a section of the wiring harness. Total cost was 95€ including diagnostics. Since the fix, all parking functions have worked perfectly. To better assist with your specific case, could you share: Have you noticed any water exposure or recent car washes before the issue started? Are you getting any specific error codes? Did the system fail gradually or suddenly? Have you had any recent body work near the parking sensors? This information would help determine if your T-Roc is experiencing the same wiring issues I encountered with my Tiguan.
