Tacoma ABS Lamp and Lateral Sensor Issue

I'm having a perplexing issue with my 2021 Toyota Tacoma with a gasoline engine. It has 141503 km on it. The ABS lamp illuminates intermittently, coinciding with a failure of the ABS system. Diagnostic analysis reveals an error stored in the error memory pertaining to the lateral acceleration sensor. Assessments suggest a potentially defective electronic control unit. Has anyone encountered a similar predicament?

Whoa, sounds familiar! I have a Tacoma too. My ABS light was going nuts and the whole system felt off. Vehicle stability was compromised. Did you mess with your wheel alignment lately, or off-roading that could’ve jolted something?

The wheel alignment has not been altered recently, and the vehicle has not been subjected to any extreme off-road conditions that might precipitate such a malfunction. Could you elaborate on the specifics of the lateral sensor issue you encountered?

Okay, so mine was similar – no crazy off-roading, but the stability and traction control were definitely acting up. I just took it straight to the shop. The control unit was the problem, something with the lateral sensor. Honestly, it's probably best to get it looked at. It's not something you want to risk, especially with the ABS!

I appreciate you sharing your experience. Your information corroborates my initial suspicion regarding the defective control unit. Following your recommendation, I shall schedule an appointment with a qualified technician for comprehensive diagnostics and subsequent repairs. Preliminary estimates indicate a repair cost of approximately 1000€. Thank you again for your help!
