Tacoma high fuel consumption MAF sensor
Summary of the thread
A 2006 Toyota Tacoma is experiencing higher fuel consumption, engine stalling at idle, a check engine light, and smoke during acceleration. These symptoms suggest a potential issue with the mass air flow (MAF) sensor. After checking the air intake and confirming the problem, replacing the faulty MAF sensor resolved the issues.

Thanks! I will check the air intake. Could a faulty MAF sensor really cause all those symptoms?

Yup, sounds like the MAF sensor to me. Mine did the exact same thing. I’d say it's time to get it checked at a workshop.

Thank you! After visiting the workshop, it turns out it was indeed the MAF sensor. Repair cost 365€. I appreciate your help!

Hey! I had similar problems with my Tacoma. Check your MAF sensor. Is your air intake clean?
