Tacoma Hybrid Brake Feedback

Anyone else with a 2023 Toyota Tacoma hybrid getting weird brake feedback? Pedal feels spongy, almost like hitting a brick wall sometimes. Done the usual checks – pads look okay, no visible leaks. Mileage is at 46396 km. Could this be some hybrid system craziness?

Strange feedback could point to a few things. Since it's a hybrid, the braking system is more complex. Is it consistently weird, or only under certain conditions like initial start or after regen braking? It might be undervoltage which affects the brake booster functionality.

Undervoltage, huh? How would I even diagnose that? It's pretty random, not tied to any specific driving condition that I can tell.

Yeah, it's a long shot but hybrids are sensitive. Diagnosing requires special tools to read the hybrid system data. To avoid complications, I would definitely recommend getting it checked at a local workshop

Dropped it at the shop, and you nailed it – some undervoltage messing with the brake system. New voltage regulator and all is good now. Cost me 240€, but better safe than sorry!
