Tacoma Hybrid Bypass Valve Error
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Toyota Tacoma Hybrid is experiencing a bypass valve malfunction error and engine overheating, suspected to be a consequential error. The issue may be linked to the vacuum system, but further investigation reveals it was caused by another sensor triggering a cascade of errors. The bypass valve error was a symptom rather than the root cause, and the repair was covered under warranty.

Power loss, yes, I noticed that too. The error code pointed towards the bypass valve, but I agree it feels like something else is triggering it. What was the root cause in your case?

Sounds like the same problem. I took it to the workshop; they sorted it out quickly. I'd recommend doing the same. It could be anything.

Thanks for the advice! Turns out it was indeed another sensor causing a cascade of errors. Bypass valve was a symptom, not the cause. Repair ended up costing nothing as it was under warranty!

I had a similar issue with my Tacoma. Error stored in the memory and engine stalling. Did you check for any power loss or exhaust system issues?
