Tacoma immobilizer fault

Anyone else have immobilizer issues with their 2015 Toyota Tacoma, gasoline engine? Engine cranks but won't fully start, sometimes starts briefly then dies. Error memory shows an immobilizer fault. Key signal maybe?

Sounds familiar. Had similar with my 2018 Opel Insignia. Was yours also key programming related? Maybe ignition control?

Key programming? You mean like the key signal wasn't being recognized? How did you figure that out?

Exactly. The key wasn't properly communicating with the car's computer. Seems like a common car electronics gremlin. Honestly, I'd recommend getting it checked at a workshop.
