Tacoma transmission oil pressure sensor fault
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Toyota Tacoma Hybrid exhibited a transmission oil pressure sensor fault, indicated by an engine warning light and error code. Symptoms included gearbox slipping, rough shifting, and occasional grinding noises. The issue was traced to a low transmission oil level, which was resolved by topping off the oil and replacing the sensor, restoring normal vehicle operation.

Thanks for the quick response! Yes, I checked the oil level, and it seemed fine at first glance. But now that you mention it, maybe I wasn't thorough enough. Where exactly did you find the oil level to be in relation to the dipstick markings?

I didn't check it myself initially. The workshop diagnosed it. They told me it was critically low. I'd recommend taking it to a professional to get it properly checked and topped up. It might save you some serious damage.

Appreciate the advice! I took it to the shop, and you were right - the oil level was indeed the culprit. They topped it off, replaced the sensor, and cleared the code. Cost me around 365€. Runs like new now!

I had similar symptoms on my Tacoma. The transmission went into emergency mode as well. Have you checked the oil level yourself? That was the first thing the workshop checked on mine.
