Tacuma Auto Gearbox Problems

My 2005 Chevy Tacuma with a gasoline engine is playing up. The auto 'box won't engage in 'Park'. Engine won't start, check engine light's on, gearbox is slipping, and the error memory is active. I suspect the control unit. Has anyone else seen this?

I had similar symptoms on my Tacuma, although not quite as severe. Does it feel like the gear linkage isn't engaging properly in park?

Yeah, it does feel like the linkage is off. Do you think it's the same control unit issue? How much of a headache was it to sort?

In my case, the issue was related to the transmission control. Given the error codes and the slippage you're experiencing, it might be beyond a simple adjustment. I'd suggest getting it to a workshop to diagnose it properly. It's not a job for a novice.

Appreciate the heads-up. Sounds like I'm heading straight to the shop. Garage quoted around 1000€ for the repair, so I guess we found the culprit.
