Tacuma Cruise Control Failure
Summary of the thread
The cruise control on a 2005 Chevrolet Tacuma is not functioning, with an error message indicating a problem. The issue may stem from a defective cable or plug connection, as suggested by a stored error code and visual inspection of the fuse box. A possible solution involves checking and cleaning the connections to the cruise control module, though accessing it may require removing some dash panels. If the problem persists, professional diagnosis and repair might be necessary to address potential wiring harness issues.

That's a good idea. Where exactly is the cruise control module located on the Tacuma? Is it easily accessible, or will I need to remove panels to get to it?

I had to remove some lower dash panels to get to it, but it wasn't too bad. After messing with the connector, it still acted up. Eventually, I took it to a shop. They diagnosed it as a faulty connection somewhere in the wiring harness. Much easier and faster than trying to trace every cable myself.

Thanks for the info. Sounds like I'm on the right track with the connection issue, but chasing it down myself might be more trouble than it's worth. I'll probably take it to a workshop and let them sort it out. Appreciate the advice. It cost me around 95€, but at least I know it's done properly.

I had a similar issue with my Tacuma. Same symptoms. I'm no expert, but have you checked the connections to the cruise control module itself? A loose or corroded connector can cause weird problems. Try unplugging it, cleaning the pins with electrical contact cleaner, and plugging it back in firmly.
