Tacuma Start Stop System Failure
Summary of the thread
A 2003 Chevrolet Tacuma is experiencing a start-stop system failure, with symptoms including unexpected engine shutdowns and a warning light on the speedometer. The initial suspicion is a battery issue, but similar experiences suggest the starter motor could also be a potential cause. Consulting a mechanic for a thorough diagnosis and repair is recommended to address the problem effectively.

Thanks! Did your Tacuma show the specific error code and warning light with the engine stalling, or were the symptoms different? And did the engine start immediately after stalling?

Okay, now I remember it better: the light came on after a few stalls. I thought it was just a glitch. But it got worse. I'm not sure about the error code. Honestly, if you're seeing that error and light already, I'd be cautious and take it to a workshop. It might be more than just the starter.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I'll consult with a trusted mechanic to diagnose the cause and make the repairs. I got a quote for 290€, probably for a heavily discharged or defective battery.

TACUMA

Hey! I kinda know that feeling. I have a Tacuma as well – not sure about the build year, need to check – and experienced something along those lines. The engine stalled repeatedly, but there was no warning light at first. Did you check the starter motor? It could be the problem.
