Tahoe Rear Sun Blind Failure

Hey, my 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe with the Duramax diesel is giving me grief. The rear sun blind just packed it in. It won't retract or extend, it's stuck halfway, and the system's throwing an error. I'm betting it's the motor. Anyone else seen this?

Summary of the thread

A 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe's rear sun blind is malfunctioning, stuck halfway, and displaying an error. The issue is suspected to be a motor failure, as there is no noise when attempting to operate it. After consulting with a local shop, the problem was confirmed to be a dead motor, requiring replacement.

Possible. Have you checked the error code itself? Any specifics there? A motor failure should present a specific open or short circuit fault in most modern modules. Does it make any noise when you attempt to actuate it?

Right, good point. I didn't pull the code yet. I'll check that in the morning. And no, there's no noise at all when I hit the button. Just...nothing.

Silent failure and a stored code points squarely to the motor then. You could test the wiring integrity, but it's more than likely an internal fault within the sunblind motor assembly. Budget for a replacement.

Appreciate the insight. Ended up taking it to a local shop, and you nailed it – dead motor. Quoted me 330€ for the repair. Bit steep, but at least it's fixed.
