Tahoe rough idle and hesitation
Summary of the thread
A 2009 Chevy Tahoe is experiencing rough idle, hesitation, and stalling, potentially due to a fuel issue like a clogged injector. The symptoms include difficulty starting, excessive fuel consumption, and engine misfires, particularly during acceleration. The suggested solution is to have a mechanic inspect the injectors, as fuel injector cleaner might not suffice. Ultimately, a defective injection nozzle was identified and repaired, resolving the issue.

Misfires... yeah, now that you mention it, it does feel a bit rough sometimes when I put my foot down. It's like the engine is hesitating, and then it finally kicks in. So, if it is the injectors, what's the best way to deal with them? Should I try some fuel injector cleaner, or am I looking at pulling them out and cleaning them by hand?

Okay, the hesitation confirms it even more. While fuel injector cleaner sometimes helps, with those symptoms, especially with that mileage, it's probably not enough. Could be properly clogged. I'd say get a mechanic to take a look. Might save you a lot of headache.

Thanks for the insight. Took your advice and went to the shop. Turns out the injection nozzle was defective, just like we suspected! Ended up costing me 515€ to get it fixed, but at least she's running smooth again. I appreciate the help!

Sounds like you're on the right track. Dirty injectors can cause all sorts of problems. Are you noticing any misfires or rough running, especially when accelerating?
