Tahoe rough idle error code
Summary of the thread
A 2004 Chevy Tahoe is experiencing rough idling and an error code. Initial checks of spark plugs and vacuum lines revealed no issues, leading to suspicion of a defective engine mount or faulty cable connection. A suggestion to inspect motor mounts for cracks or separation was made, as these can cause idling problems and error codes. The issue was confirmed by a professional, identifying a faulty cable connection related to the motor mount, which was fixed for 95€.

Thanks, appreciate the tip. Was your problem intermittent, or constant? And did you notice any difference between cold and warm starts? Wondering if it's heat-related, expanding the failed mount and affecting the idle more.

Mine was pretty constant, didn't seem to matter if it was cold or warmed up. But definitely get it checked out by a pro, I ended up replacing the whole motor mount and transmission mount, too, just to be safe. It could be a cheaper fix with just the cable/plug, but better safe than sorry!

Appreciate the advice! Took it to a shop and they confirmed the motor mount issue – faulty cable connection. 95€ fix. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Sounds familiar. I had something similar happen with my Tahoe. Check your motor mounts, especially the mounting bracket – mine failed. It can cause some funky idling issues and trigger those phantom error codes. Give 'em a good visual inspection, look for cracks or separation.
