Tahoe Starting and Cruise Control Problems

I'm having issues with my 2020 Chevrolet Tahoe Diesel (150122 km). Sometimes the engine won't start. Plus, there's an error code, the gear selection display is dead, and the cruise control isn't working. Could a faulty clutch pedal switch cause this? I've found a potentially defective cable or plug connection.

Summary of the thread

A 2020 Chevrolet Tahoe Diesel was experiencing issues with starting, a non-functional gear selection display, and cruise control problems. The suspected cause was a faulty clutch pedal switch or a defective cable or plug connection. It was suggested that the safety switch connected to the clutch pedal might not be registering correctly, affecting the starting and cruise control functions. The problem was resolved by fixing a faulty connection to the clutch pedal switch at a workshop.

I had a similar issue with my Tahoe. Does it feel like the car is stalling? Have you checked the safety switch? It sounds like the system isn't registering that the clutch is engaged. That would explain the starting problem and the cruise control. The error and gear selection display could also be related if they rely on that switch.

Thanks! Where is this safety switch located, and how do I check it? Is it easy to get to, or do I need special tools? And yes, it does feel like it is stalling! Is this safety switch part of a bigger safety mechanism or part of the ignition problem?

On my Tahoe, the safety switch was the problem. It's connected to the clutch pedal and prevents starting unless the clutch is down. You can check the connections, but with all those symptoms, I'd suggest a workshop. You could make it worse. It cost me 95€ because they replaced a cable.

Thanks so much! I took it to the workshop, and you were right. It was a faulty connection to the clutch pedal switch. They fixed the cable, and now everything is working again. I really appreciate your help!
