Tailgate Hall Sensor Fault
Summary of the thread
The main issue discussed is a tailgate that won't fully open on a 2020 Peugeot 2008 electric vehicle, with an error log indicating a hall sensor fault. The problem might be due to a bad cable or plug, as suggested by the initial commenter. A possible solution is to check the wiring with a multimeter or take the vehicle to a shop for professional repair, which resolved a similar issue for another person at a cost of 95€, including a new sensor.
Did this summary help you solve your problem?

The error is always there. I looked at the wiring, but I haven't used a multimeter yet. Which wires should I check first?

Okay, if the error is constant, that means something. You could check it with a multimeter, but since it's a hall sensor and you checked the wiring... I'd just take it to a shop. That's what I did, and they fixed it fast. It cost 95€, including the new sensor. Saved me a lot of time!

Thanks for the help. I'll bring it to a shop to get it fixed. Good to know about how much it might cost.

My zero kilometer Q4 e-tron's electric trunk lid opens intermittently. If it doesn't open, and if I'm already in a bad mood, it makes a "did did" sound. It won't open with the key, the button on the trunk, or the interior button. It unlocks with a click, but the shock absorber doesn't lift the lid. If I lift it manually, it makes a "did dit" sound. It won't close with the button. It doesn't give any error codes. The service couldn't fix it, not even with calibration. It's driving me crazy.

The electric trunk lid of the zero q4 e tron opens and then doesn't open. If it doesn't open that day, if it's in a bad mood, it makes a "d" "d" "d" sound. It doesn't open from the key, the button in the trunk or from inside. It clicks and gets rid of the lock, but the shock absorber doesn't work and doesn't lift. If you lift it by hand forcibly, this time it says "d" "d" "d". It doesn't close with buttons or keys. It doesn't give a fault. The service couldn't solve it. It didn't fix it with calibration or anything. It drives me crazy.

Check if there's any obstruction or debris around the trunk lid mechanism that might be causing the issue. Sometimes, even small objects can interfere with the operation. If the problem persists, it might be a good idea to have a different service center take a look, as they might have more experience with this specific issue. Let me know how it goes or if you have any further questions!

Check the condition of the trunk lid struts or shock absorbers. If they are weak or failing, they might not provide enough force to lift the trunk lid. You can try manually assisting the trunk lid to see if it opens more easily. If this resolves the issue temporarily, consider replacing the struts. Let me know if this helps or if you have any further questions!

I had a similar problem with my 2008, but mine isn't electric. The tailgate thing was driving me crazy. Is the error always there, or does it come and go? Have you looked at the wiring where it goes into the tailgate? That's where they often break.
