Talento air intake leak
Summary of the thread
A 2021 Fiat Talento owner suspects an air intake system leak due to increased fuel consumption, a check engine light, and a loud hissing sound when accelerating. The potential causes include issues with the vacuum hose or intake manifold. A similar case with a Fiat Doblo revealed a split in the intake hose, suggesting that checking for cracks or loose connections in the air filter and intake hose might resolve the issue. Ultimately, the problem was confirmed to be a split in the intake hose, which was fixed at a workshop.

Thanks for the tip. Where exactly was the issue with your Doblo? Was it a specific part of the intake system?

Yeah, on mine it was definitely the intake hose – it had a split on the underside where I couldn't easily see it. I tried to get away with just taping it up at first, but it wasn't a long-term fix. Honestly, with those symptoms, I'd get it checked at a workshop, just to be sure. It's better than potentially messing something else up.

Appreciate the advice. I'll check the hose more closely, but will probably take it in. Turns out you were spot on. It was a split in the intake hose, cost me 100€ to get fixed. Thanks!

Sounds familiar! I had something similar happen with my Fiat Doblo. Same symptoms: check engine light, the weird hissing. Have you checked the air filter and the intake hose for any cracks or loose connections? It could be something simple before you start thinking about the throttle body or anything more complicated.
